The past month has been a blur. We had spring break, a camping trip, school work, oh, and our church is moving but I just don’t know where the time has gone. Some months are like that.

Our church is moving and it is strange to be leaving our existing building to build a new one. This month has been all about getting everything ready for that move. We have sold our old building and are not ready to begin building a new one so we will be meeting in a middle school auditorium. It will be weird as we will not have church on SUnday nights or Wednesday nights. I have gone to church on Wednesdays my entire life. My kids love going on Wednesdays as that is when they have Bible Drills. I know this is only temporary but it almost feels like we are moving into the wilderness. There will be no place to have pot luck suppers once a month. Prayer meeting and Bible Study will be on hold. Family nights in the gym will be no longer.

We will have to be creative to figure out how to get together in other ways. Our Sunday School class will be getting together on Sunday nights with all the kids. Choir will be meeting on Thursday nights at a neighbor church who is gracious to let us use their facility for practice. There will not be childcare so Honey will have to hold down the fort.

Sunday mornings will have the children holding SS in the hallways. THe toddlers and babies will be meeting in the teacher’s lounge. There will be no children’s church so I will have two wiggly boys during the preaching. I know it will all work out but I have been stressing about the details. God loves to be in the details and it is obvious his hand has been at work through this whole process.

I know church is not about the building but it sure does help to have a place large enough to all meet together. Another church has bought our building and it is awsome that GOd’s work is going to continue in that building. We are moving to another part of town on a larger piece of land.  OUr congregation is over 100 years old and I know God is not finished with our work here in our town yet. He will bless both congregations as we minister to our city.

Our new building is going to be lovely. YOu can see a picture of it here. I am excited and nervous and a little bit scared.
